Jacqui Schuman joined the Catholic University athletic department in June of 2011 and serves as the Associate Athletic Director. Schuman came to CUA from the University of Tennessee where she served as the Director of the CHAMPS/Life Skills & Student Life Development Program. In this role she directed all aspects of the Student-Athlete Development Program, including staff, budget, curriculum and events. She also led development efforts for funding opportunities of student life/educational gifts.
Prior to her time at Tennessee, Schuman had stints at Florida Atlantic University, the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and with the Nokia Sugar Bowl, serving in various roles ranging from student-athlete counseling, game operations, promotional activities, and event planning.
Schuman has been active in a variety of professional
organizations, having facilitated at the NCAA Student-Athlete
Leadership Conference, serving on NCAA Peer Review Teams, and
working as a consultant for the National Consortium's Mentors in
Violence Prevention and Branded a Leader Programs.
Schuman earned her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt
University, where she was a four-year member of the
Commodores’ cross country/track and field program. She
went on to earn her master’s degree in exercise and sport
science, with a concentration in sports administration, from the
University of North Carolina.
