Edwin J. Karp (Karpowich) '36

Karp's stellar athletic career actually began before his days at Catholic University, as he was a member of the Mexican National soccer team, touring Europe under the name Simon Rodriguez. While at Catholic, he was a star football player and track team member. He went on to play four years (1936-39) for the Pittsburgh Steelers at $150 per game.
