James C. Turner '40

Inducted Jan. 18, 1980

Primarily fighting at the heavyweight and light heavyweight classes, Turner was one of the Big 3 of the undefeated 1940 boxing team. Had memorable victories against Villanova in 1938, where he recorded a knockdown in each round and ending the 1938 against Pitt with a second-round TKO. Turner was one of four boxers chosen to represent Catholic in the 1940 National Collegiate Boxing Tournament in Charlottesville, Va.
