Red FlemingFrancis "Red" Fleming '35

Red Fleming was a starting end on the football team for four years and named to the All-Washington Area All-Star team in 1933 and 1934. He was also undefeated light heavyweight boxing champion for four years and played baseball at Catholic. Fleming was selected to play in the first indoor football game at the Boston Garden on Dec. 11, 1935, playing for the Collegiate All Stars.

Fleming was signed by the National League's Boston Braves as a catcher in 1936 and was assigned to the Columbia, S.C., farm team. In the fall of 1936 and 1937 he was a starting end for the Boston Shamrocks in the American Professional Football League.
