Robert J. Talbot '59Inducted June 8, 1985 A true two-sport star, Talbot was the first 1,100-point scorer in CU basketball history and is currently 15th on the list with 1,187 points. He also still holds the single-game record for strikeouts with 17 in a 1958 game against Towson State. In recognition of his four years of outstanding service to the University as a scholar, an athlete, and a gentleman, Talbot was awarded the 1959 Harris Cup trophy, the most coveted athletic award CUA offers its graduating seniors. Talbot also had a tenure as the Director of Athletics at Catholic University. During his time the university won a national championship in men?s basketball, had a number of teams compete in NCAA tournament and had continued improvements to the facilities. He spearheaded the Competitive Edge Campaign which raised money for both interior and exterior renovations. Participation
