A versatile all-around swimer, Donald Mudd was Mason-Dixon Conference champion in the butterly, a mainstay of the freestyle and medley relay teams, and a consistent performer in the freestyle at any distance. Mudd served as captain of the swim team, and held the school record in the 220-yard freestyle as well as the pool record for the butterfly leg of the 400-yard medley relay team. As anchor man for the 400 freestyle relay, Mudd ensured many Catholic U. victories in the event. Catholic won the Mason-Dixon championships in three of his four years on the team.
