Mike Tryon, B.A. '82

Inducted 2003

A catcher, Tryon led CUA to four winning seasons. His freshman year, Tryon hit .414, .357 his junior season, and led the team in batting average, hits and doubles. Senior year, he hit .425 and set the CUA record for hits--51. In the 1982 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, Tryon hit a 400-foot home run in the 11th inning to beat Old Dominion University and send CUA to the finals. In 1982, he was named to the NCAA Division I Eastern Regional First Team and honored as ECAC Player of the Year. He was drafted by and played with the Minnesota Twins organization for two seasons.
