On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the CUA
football team spent the day off giving back to the community by
participating in the renovation of local Theodore Roosevelt Senior
High School. The football team along with more than five
hundred volunteers teamed up with City Year, a national service
program dedicated to changing the world. The day was filled
with hard work and much needed improvements as volunteers covered
graffiti, rebuilt benches and painted murals. The football team was
able to use their artistic skills in painting several murals in the
hallways leading up to the gymnasium with sports figures such as
Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, and the late Washington Redskin Sean
Taylor. In addition, the team managed to paint and decorate
hallways throughout the school with the help of all the
coaches. The service day turned out to be a huge success as
the school had been given a facelift thanks to the teamwork of
hundreds of volunteers and sponsors.
