On Saturday April 28, 2007 the CUA women's soccer team volunteered at the D.C. Special Olympics track and field trials at Archbishop Carroll High School. It was an eye opening experience for the team as they witness the enthusiasm of a group of people who were so appreciative to have a chance to succeed. The girls were instrumental in timing the runners in track events ranging from the assisted walk to the 400 meter relay, measuring distances in the softball and tennis ball throwing field event and most importantly, encouraging and congratulating each athlete. The women's soccer team is thankful for the chance to make a difference in the D.C. community. - Kelly Alt
