Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

10/14/07 SAAC Meeting Minutes 

1. The Community service project for each team must be emailed to Courtney Pisano ASAP.

- each team must perform 1 community service project per semester

2. Fundraising- we want to sell t-shirts to raise money for SAAC as well as donate some of the money to a good cause

- possible suggestions were a Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirt

- everyone was asked to keep thinking of fundraisers that we can do

3. Fundraising during halftime of basketball games- asking for people to donate prizes (ex: Wizards tickets)

- hold a raffle with $1 tickets

- pick a winner

- winner wins the donated prize

4. There will be no Athlete's Ball this year

- asked to think of alternatives to Athlete's Ball

- thoughts were:

* field day- team vs. team with prizes for the winners

* Sit-down dinner

* Beach Day where we could all go to the closest beach

* Rent out a Dave and Busters- everyone could get food and game cards for a couple rounds of free games

5. Saturday, Oct 27th is Faculty Appreciation Day

- we need 6-7 volunteers to work from 10:30- 11:45

6. Saturday, November 3rd is the Hall of Fame Dinner at 6pm in the Great Room

- we need 6-7 athletes to go

Next SAAC Meeting is Sunday, November 11th at 8 p.m.
