Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

9/16/07 SAAC Meeting Minutes 

1. Everyone who attended signed the sign in sheet.

2. We discussed our next 3 meeting dates which are October 14, November 11, and December 2nd.

3. Community Service

- Each team should know by the middle of October what their team community service project will be and when they will be doing it.

If the team cannot find a project, email Emmjolee Mendoza (mendozae@cua.edu) in Campus Ministry and she will help find one for you. Once the SAAC representatives from each team decides on their project, they should email Courtney Pisano and (59Pisano@cua.edu) and let her know your project.

4. Fundraising Ideas

- Selling Breast Cancer Awarenees T-shirts in the month of October. We could give half of the proceeds to breast cancer research and half can go to raising money for SAAC.

- If we can get prizes to be donated, we can raffle them off in the middle of a Basketball game...proceeds go to SAAC.

5. We are trying to increase the attendance at all sporting events.

6. SAAC needs to be involved in Homecoming Weekend so that we could possibly fundraise during that weekend.

7. As an alternative to Athlete's Ball, we talked about maybe having a Field Day at the Duf--all teams would be invited.

The next meeting is Sunday night October 14th.
