Devine Named Landmark Athlete of the Week
Hits two doubles and a triple in five games

4/14/2008

WASHINGTON - Catholic University baseball player Joe Devine (Medford Lakes, N.J./Shawnee) has been named the Landmark Conference Baseball Athlete of the Week for the past seven days.  Devine had at least one hit in all five games as the Cards went 3-1-1 with two Landmark Conference wins over the past week.

Devine hit .474 over the five games, and hit safely in every contest on the week. He had three multi-hit games including a 2-for-4 performance with three RBI and a run scored in a win over Scranton in the series finale. He had a pair of doubles in that win, which gave him three extra base hits for the week. He finished the week with nine hits, six RBI and four runs scored.

For the season Devine is hitting .330 with five doubles, two triples and three home runs as well as 22 RBI.  He has 24 putouts and 46 assists in the field.

The Cardinals will host Randolph-Macon in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
