Landmark Conference names Mierzwa Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – Tim Mierzwa was named the Landmark Conference
Player of the Week on Monday, after a week in which he hit .500 for
the Cardinals in four games. Mierzwa totaled six hits in 12
at bats and also finished with a 1.000 fielding percentage for
CUA.
Mierzwa went 6 for 12 at the dish last week and also drove in
three runs, scored five runs, stole a base and had five putouts and
seven assists in the field.
The senior went 2 for 2 with a run scored vs. Bridgewater on
Tuesday, and then went 2 for 4 in games one and two at Susquehanna,
both of which were CUA wins. Mierzwa scored four runs in the
game one win against the Crusaders and then drove in two runs in
game number-two.
For the season, Mierzwa is batting .341 in 36 games, with 42 hits
in 123 at bats. He has also totaled 42 runs, 16 RBIs, 13
stolen bases and a .977 fielding percentage.
Mierzwa and the Cardinals return to action on Tuesday when they
travel to face Messiah in their final non-conference game of the
season. Start time is set for 3 p.m. from Grantham, Pa.
