Schroth named Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week

WASHINGTON – Adam Schroth was named the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday.  Schroth went 1-0 for the Cardinals last week, striking out five while allowing one hit and no runs in a conference win over Drew.

Schroth helped lead CUA to a 2-1 series win vs. Drew with a terrific pitching performance on Saturday.  The sophomore hurler went 6.0 innings against the Rangers, and earned his third win of the season after allowing one hit and no runs, while striking out five and walking one in a 9-0 win.

For the season, Schroth leads the Cardinals with a 3-1 record in five appearances.  He has a 3.48 ERA and has struck out 15 hitters in 20.2 innings.  Opponents are hitting only .203 against him and he has allowed a total of eight earned runs during that time.

Schroth and the Cardinals return to the diamond on Wednesday afternoon when they host No. 17 Shenandoah at Talbot Field.  First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
