WASHINGTON- Catholic University graduate Justin D’Alessandro was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays organization in 2012, and after a spectacular rookie season with the Gulf Coast Blue Jays he was promoted to the Short Season –A team Vancouver Canadians.
D’Alessandro left the Gulf Coast Blue Jays after totaling 14.2 innings, 12 strikeouts, and a 3.07 earned run average.
“The highlight of my career so far was striking out the first hitter I faced in my professional debut last season as well as being assigned to Vancouver this season, which I am very excited to be a part of,” said the right handed hurler.
When asked about his new team the Vancouver Canadians he said, “I love the organization. I’m surrounded by great teammates, coaches, and staff. Vancouver itself is beautiful and Canadian's baseball means a lot to the city, so I feel proud to play in front of such a supportive fan base.”
“The CUA community is very excited for Justin and his promotion to the Northwest League,” said Cardinals’ Head Baseball Coach Ross Natoli. He continued with, “He is an outstanding example of hard work and persistence and I wish him the best as he continues to pursue his professional baseball dream.”
