Kalokitis named Landmark Conference Player of the Week

WASHINGTON – After batting .476 during CUA’s spring break trip last week, Mark Kalokitis was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Kalokitis helped lead the Cards to four wins in six games, totaling 10 hits and 10 runs batted in.

Kalokitis finished the week with five doubles, eight runs scored, an .857 slugging percentage, a .538 on base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage. He totaled 24 putouts and a pair of assists in the field.

A native of New Jersey, Kalokitis went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI in CUA’s first game vs. Mt. Aloysius. His run-scoring two-bagger was the 100th hit of his career.

The senior then went 3 for 4 with three RBI and three runs scored in a win vs. York and 3 for 5 with three more runs scored and three RBI in a win against Ursinus.

Kalokitis finished his week off with two more hits, runs and runs batted in, in a victory over Wilkes.

For the season, Kalokitis is batting .424 for the 9-2 Cardinals. He has 14 hits, 11 RBI and a slugging percentage of .667.

Kalokitis and the Cardinals return to action on Monday afternoon when they make the short trip north to face Johns Hopkins. Start time is set for 3:30 p.m.
