Dillon receives Player of the Week honors from Landmark Conference
WASHINGTON – Freshman Charlie Dillon was named the
Landmark Conference Player of the Week on Monday. The Chicago
native hit .500 in a 4-1 week for the Cardinals, which included a
three-game sweep of Landmark Conference foe Drew.
Dillon went 7 for 14 at the dish last week, totaling a triple, five RBIs, three runs scored, a slugging percentage of .643 and an on base percentage of .533. The first year shortstop also notched nine putouts and seven assists.
Dillon went 3 for 4 with two runs batted in and a run scored in CUA’s win over Randolph-Macon on Thursday.
He then went 1 for 2 and 1 for 3 in a doubleheader sweep against Drew on Saturday, before closing out his week with a 2 for 4 performance in Sunday’s finale vs. Drew. Dillon drove in two runs on Sunday in the win.
For the season, Dillon is hitting .471 for the Cards, totaling eight hits in 10 games. He has six RBIs, five runs scored and a stolen base.
Dillon and the Cards return to the diamond on Wednesday afternoon when they play host to Washington College. The first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
