Cardinals Split Opening Weekend with Marymount (Va.)

WASHINGTON – The CUA baseball team opened the season at .500 with a 5-4 loss and a 10-4 win with Marymount (Va.) on Sunday, Feb. 23 in Arlington. Va.

In the opening contest Marc Hanna tallied two hits to go along with his RBI, with Hanna, Paul Breslin and Nick Clary each recorded a hit.

Robin Mowatt and Andrew Carroll split action from the mound with Mowatt allowing seven hits and five runs, on top of his five strikes and one walk in three innings.

The second game of the twinbill consisted of Breslin's three hits, as Hanna notched three RBIs.

Four Cards took over the mound with Kevin Farley taking his first win six strikeouts and allowing two in four innings of action.

Catholic returns to the diamond on Wednesday, Feb. 26 against the Yellow Jackets of Randolf-Macon at 2:30 p.m.
