Cardinals Rally Back For 7-6 Extra-Innings Victory

WASHINGTON – With CUA trailing 6-2 by the top of the eighth, the Catholic University baseball team scored a game-high four runs in the bottom of the eighth and added a single run in the bottom of the 13th to beat St. Mary's (Md.) 7-6.

Michael Parco clinched CUA's 19th overall victory and 10th home win with a single up the middle to scoring the pinch runner Scott Griannan from second base.

The Cards sent the contest into extra innings with four runs in the bottom of the eighth. 

Stefan Poggioli doubled on his at bat scoring Brett Padula, Jimmy Davis and Marc Hanna.  Poggioli rounded out the bases on Paul Burmester's at bat.

Will O'Leary recorded the win in his one inning at the mound, where he faced up four batters and did not give a single run.

Catholic will take on its final two Landmark Conference opponents on the road with Drew on Friday, April 25 at 4:00 p.m. and Susquehanna on Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and a single match on Sunday, April 27 at 12:00 p.m.
