WASHINGTON – During their final regular season conference doubleheader, the Catholic University baseball team suffered an opening 4-2 loss, but answered back with a 5-1 win over Susquehanna.
Kevin Farley took the loss by striking out one batter and allowing nine hits and four runs.
For their game two 5-1 win, Brett Padula and Burmester each notched two RBIs in collaboration with Hinchcliff's three hits and Scamardella's two hits.
The Cards kept SU runless, while overpowering the conference host with a single run in the top of the first and double runs in the top of the fifth and seventh for the win.
Robin Mowatt seized his fifth win of the season when he struck out four Susquehanna batters and only allowed a single run.
Catholic wraps up the weekend with a single noon contest on Sunday.
