Greyhounds Shutout Cardinals 11-0 During Landmark Conference Tournament

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University baseball concludes the season with an 11-0 loss to Moravian during the 2014 Landmark Conference Tournament at Gillespie Field in Bethlehem, Pa.

Despite not scoring a run, the Cardinals finished with four hits, while seven batters were walked.  Brett Padula, Stefan Piggioli, Paul Burmester and Brendan Breslin each recorded on run apiece.

CUA utilized five pitchers with Robin Mowatt taking the loss, who suffered four hits and four runs against 20 batters.

Defensively the Cards putout 24 Greyhounds, as Eric Scamardella halted 10 runners at first base, with a team-high four assists from Andrew Stewart from third base. 

Catholic concludes the season 21-19 overall and 10-8 in the conference.
