Cardinals Downed by Spartans, 12-3

York, Pa. - The Catholic University of America baseball team dropped its Sunday afternoon game 12-3 to York College in nine innings.

The Spartans got off to an early start with two runs in the first inning and another four runs in the third. Catholic got on the scoreboard with a run from junior Anthony Ferlise in the fourth inning.

In the top of the fifth, Catholic junior Jake Crist, who went 3-of-4 on the day, sent an RBI single through the right side to score freshman Connor Sullivan. Junior Brennan Cotter stepped to the plate next and lobbed the ball to center field to bring home classmate Jack Hennessy.

York answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth and brought home five more in the eight for the weekend victory.

The Cardinals will face Moravian College on Saturday, May 6 at 2 p.m., to determine the standing of the Landmark Conference Tournament.
