WASHINGTON - Frostburg's Scott Feller was 4-for-8 with 4 RBI to help Frostburg State sweep a non-league doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Talbot Field, extending the Cardinals' winless streak to three games.

Feller was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in Game 1 as he cranked a two-run double in the first inning as the Bobcats crossed three runs in the first and one in the second to lead 4-0 after two.

Starter Peter Doyle (6-2) had his three-game win streak snapped as the freshman went five innings, allowing nine hits, five runs (four earned), while walking two and fanning one.

Down 5-0, the Cardinals rallied in the sixth as a Bernie Dennis two-run double and a Mark Soisson sacrifice fly which scored Dennis, made it a 5-3 game.

But the Bobcats (20-8-1) tacked a run in the top of the seventh and reliever Chris McGarvey had a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh to end game one.

In game two Catholic took a 1-0 lead in the third as Soisson drove home senior Justin Siller with an opposite field single to right.

Pitcher Pat Trunfio (2-1) was cruising through the first three innings before Frostburg State took the lead for good in the fourth as Eric Edelman hit a two-run home run to left field off the scoreboard.

The Bobcats added two more runs in the next inning as Feller struck again with the bat using a two-run single to add some insurance to FSU starter Dan Sidorowicz.

Sidorowicz went all seven innings, striking out three and walking three, while scattering five hits. Trunfio lasted 4.1 innings, giving up five hits and four runs while fanning two and walking two. Reliever Eric Cortina came in the fifth and only allowed two hits while striking out five.

Catholic (16-12) takes on St. Mary's tomorrow here at Talbot Field in a Capital Athletic Conference game starting at 3:30 p.m.
