Apr 28, 2003

DOVER, DE. - Freshman Kevin Conley was 2-for-5 with three RBI's and senior Adam Weiss went seven strong innings as Catholic defeated Wesley, 8-3, Monday afternoon.

After senior Mark Soisson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the seventh to take a 4-3 lead, Conley then cleared the basepaths with his double to the gap in right center to add some insurance runs for starter Weiss.

Weiss only allowed two runs on four hits while striking out six and walking five. Senior Doug Sherry threw a scoreless eighth and ninth inning to pick up the save.

Soisson and junior Bernie Dennis were each 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Junior Tim Bottomly added a RBI double in the fourth inning.

The Wolverine's Brock Dean was 1-for-3 with a two-run double in the fourth for Wesley (17-18).

Catholic (21-14) returns to action tomorrow with a trip to Gettysburg College to take on the Bullets at 3:30 p.m.
