Cards Fall to Spartans 14-3
YORK, Pa.- The Catholic University baseball team fell 14-3 to the York Spartans (21-6, 7-2 CAC) Friday afternoon at Jaquet Field. The Cards had a tough game not scoring until the eighth inning while York was hot on the offensive end from the start. With the loss CUA drops to 14-15 for the season and 5-4 in the Capital Athletic Conference.
The Spartans scored all fourteen of their runs before CUA could get on the board. York had two big innings including five runs in the second and four runs in the sixth. The Cardinals finally scored in the top of the eighth thanks to a three-run homer from Robbie O'Brien driving in Pedro Rivera and Cory Hudson. Unfortunately that would be the end of the rally as CUA fell 14-3.
Matthew Rosner led the way at the plate going 3-4 as the Cards managed seven hits to York's 11. Andrew Moldawer took the loss for CUA on the mound after getting the start.
CUA will play its final CAC game on Saturday against Gallaudet. The game time has been changed to 11:30 a.m., due to weather.
