Baseball Earns Six All-Conference Honors

WASHINGTON-- After winning its second consecutive Landmark Conference title, the CUA men's baseball team earned six all-conference honors including five first team selections.

The team dominated in nearly every infield position with Patrick Quintana (Denver/Littleton) anchoring the defense at catcher.  Joe Devine (Medford Lakes/Shawnee) earned first team honors at second base, while L.J. Travaglia (Randolph/Randolph) held down the other middle infield position on the first team.  Mike Goodman (Brookville/Sherwood) held the hot corner first team position while Jack Mahoney (Washington Depot/Canterbury Prep) earned first team laurels for his effort as a relief pitcher this season.  Andrew Moldawer (Gaithersburg/Quince Orchard) earned second team honors for his excellent year as a starting pitcher.

The 2009 squad finished the season 22-20 with a 10-8 mark in the Landmark Conference.  Winning their last six conference contests to earn the fourth playoff spot, the team battled from the bottom to earn their second straight Landmark Conference title in as many years.
