Deoudes, Travaglia Earn All-Region Honors
WASHINGTON- Two members of the CUA baseball team were honored with All-Region accolades, announced the American Baseball Coaches Association Thursday. Dimitri Deoudes was named to the Third Team All-South Region, while fellow Cardinal L.J. Travaglia earned the 2010 Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
Dimitri Deoudes ended his junior campaign with the highest batting average on the team (.417), managing 48 hits in 115 appearances at the plate. He amassed 10 doubles, two triples, one homerun, and 40 RBIs on the year. He also added 53 put-outs and finished with a fielding percentage of .981.
L.J. Travaglia started and played in 35 games for the Cardinals this season. He knocked 44 hits in 123 appearances at the plate for a batting average of .358. He tied for first on the squad in doubles (12) while notching 20 RBIs on the year. Travaglia finished his junior year with 60 put-outs, 113 assists, and a fielding percentage of .945.
The baseball team finished their 2010 season with an overall record of 22-17, and a conference record of 13-5. The squad also earned five spots on the All-Landmark team after finishing second in the conference.
