WASHINGTON - The Catholic University Baseball Program will host a fall Prospect Camp on Saturday October 15 and Sunday, October 16, 2011 on-campus at the DuFour Athletic Center and Baseball Complex. This camp is designed for the advanced high school student-athlete in grades 9-12 who is striving to reach their full potential and eventually compete at the college level. All players will have an opportunity to meet, learn and be evaluated by current Catholic University baseball coaches.
The camp coaching staff and instructors will include the Catholic University Coaching Staff led by Head Coach Ross Natoli in his 27th year, head assistant and pitching coach John Nolan, and assistant coaches Jonas Fester and Matt Ferrari. Varsity players from the 2011-2012 Catholic University Baseball Team will also be on staff to participate as assistant camp instructors and interact with prospects.
Our camp goals are to provide a forum for prospective student-athletes to display their athletic and baseball talents to the Catholic University Baseball coaching staff. We will also provide instruction to improve each player's fundamental skills and prepare players to the fullest for their potential college baseball careers. The two day format will emphasize pitching, individual defensive position play, hitting fundamentals, base running, strength and agility training, and game experience.
Participants will be tested and evaluated in key skills areas including: arm strength, running speed, hitting, pitching, catching, throwing, fielding and base running ability during position-specific instructional skill development sessions and live game play. We will also include a session on Catholic University academic requirements and expectations, the college recruiting and admissions process, balancing college academics and baseball, and a Catholic University campus tour for players and parents. A players dinner on campus and a Parents & Coaches Baseball Forum will also be included.
Camp cost is $220 per participant. For further camp details and on-line registration, please click here.
