Esposito rewarded for stellar pitching performance

WASHINGTON – After throwing a complete game, six-hitter that helped lift CUA over third-ranked Kean in the NCAA Tournament Mid-Atlantic Regional last week, senior Rob Esposito is this week's CUA Athlete of the Week.  Esposito was brilliant against the Cougars, allowing just one earned run and striking out seven in the Cardinals 3-2 victory.

Esposito allowed just a single run in the first and seventh innings vs. Kean, holding the Cougars high-powered offense in check all evening.

Esposito earned his eighth win of the season against Kean, upping his mark to 8-2 with a 2.83 ERA in 76.1 innings of work.  He struck out 48 hitters and held opponents to a .286 batting average.

Following completion of the regional, CUA sophomore Mark Kalokitis was named to the Mid-Atlantic Region All-Tournament Team.  In the Cardinals three games in New Jersey, Kalokitis hit .444 with four hits in nine at bats to go along with two runs scored and a .556 slugging percentage.  Kalokitis scored both of his runs in CUA's victory over Kean.
