Cardinals head across town to face Gallaudet on Friday
WASHINGTON - Following an exhilarating come-from-behind win over McDaniel last weekend, CUA heads back out on the road on Friday to face cross-town rival Gallaudet. The Cardinals defeated the Green Terror 39-36 last week after trailing by 12 points early in the fourth quarter. Greg Cordivari threw for 459 yards and three scores en route to earning ODAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Alonzo Cooke hauled in eight passes for 127 yards and the game-winning score with 1:01 on the clock.
In its season opener last weekend, Gallaudet nearly upset Otterbein, falling 28-27 after a failed two-point conversion.
CUA leads the all-time series between these local rivals 23-0-2. The teams first met in 1906, a game the Cardinals won 7-0, and they last met in 2009. Prior to that meeting CUA and Gallaudet had not played since 1994.
Greg Cordivari did not play favorites last week at McDaniel. The CUA signal caller completed passes to nine different receivers, with three catching at least five.
CUA has won 15 road games under Dave Dunn, including three a season ago. The Cardinals face a tough schedule this year with six of their ten contests taking place away from home.
