Boyle named ODAC Player of the Week

Junior running back Dan Boyle (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) has been named Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Cardinals' 46-33 loss to Bridgewater (Va.) on Saturday. It is the second time he has received the honor this season.

All-American Matt Taylor (Marlton, N.J./Holy Cross) held the mark of 1,328 yards in 1996. Boyle's seven 100-yard rushing games tied a school season record.

Boyle also caught four passes for 24 yards against Bridgewater. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry on 282 attempts this season and caught 11 passes for 81 yards (7.4 avg.). He led the Cardinals in scoring with 92 points on 15 TDs and one two-point conversion, and paced the club in all-purpose yardage with 1,681 (168.1 ypg).

After beginning the season 1-3, CUA finished 6-4 for its seventh consecutive winning season under Coach Tom Clark. The Cards finished third in the ODAC behind Bridgewater and Emory & Henry with a league record of 4-2.
