WASHINGTON - Senior Ryan Welsh (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for football.

Welsh, a linebacker, was instrumental in the Cardinals 41-35 overtime win against Frostburg State as he collected a game-high nine tackles, including six for losses and three sacks. His six tackles for losses totaled minus-19 yards and his three sacks were for minus-14 yards.
