Welsh earns national weekly honors
WASHINGTON - Senior Ryan Welsh (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum), right, has been named Don Hansen's NCAA Division III Tri-National Defensive Player of the Week.

Welsh, a linebacker, was instrumental in the Cardinals 41-35 overtime win over Frostburg State as he collected a game-high nine tackles, including six for losses and three sacks. His six tackles for losses totaled minus-19 yards and his three sacks were for minus-14 yards.

He leads the team in tackles (40.5), tackles for losses (13 for minus-43 yards) and six sacks.
