McManus, Sencindiver Named Players of the Week
10/27/2008
WASHINGTON- Senior Ryan McManus (Malvern, Pa./Malvern Prep) and sophomore Emily Sencindiver (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) have been named ODAC and Landmark Players of the Week, respectively, for their efforts in last week's athletic contests.
McManus converted three of the offense's five touchdown passes in the Cardinals' win over #18 Hampden-Sydney. McManus hauled in seven passes for 186 yards to go with his three scores. His final 7-yard touchdown run gave the Cardinals some breathing room that stood up through the final 14:54 of the game. McManus now has a team-best 7 receiving touchdowns, second in the ODAC conference.
Emily Sencindiver was a tough forced in CUA's last two games, helping the Catholic defense limit Landmark rival Moravian to just one shot in a 5-0 victory. It marked the third shutout for Catholic in five conference matches. She also produced a pair of defensive saves earlier in the week as the Cardinals suffered a one-goal defeat to 11th-ranked Rowan.
The football team returns to the field on November 1st for a 1 p.m., match up at Emory and Henry. Field hockey will hit the road on October 29th for a 6 p.m., contest against Salisbury.
