Friends of CUA football gather to celebrate the life of Ken Dutton
WASHINGTON – On Saturday, October 2, a number of football alumni, as well as friends and supporters of the program gathered at St. Vincent's Chapel on CUA's campus to honor the life of former Cardinals coach Ken Dutton at a memorial mass. Dutton, who coached at CUA from 1974-86, passed away in 2009.
During the mass, CUA alum Rich Frazier as well as former coaches
Greg Klees and Joe Pascale spoke. In addition, Jeff Cherry
and Michael McGowan performed readings. Joining the
contingent of CUA alums were university President John H. Garvey as
well as Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Mike
Allen.
The ceremony took place on Homecoming Weekend and was held prior
to the current Cardinals game versus Hampden-Sydney.
