CUA looks for third third straight win vs. McDaniel on Saturday
WASHINGTON - A pair of 2-0 teams meet on
Saturday afternoon inside Cardinal Stadium as CUA welcomes McDaniel
to town. The Cardinals are coming off a 42-32 win over
Apprentice School last weekend in which they racked up 441 yards of
total offense, including a 304-yard, five-touchdown passing
performance by sophomore quarterback Greg Cordivari. McDaniel
meanwhile scored just one offensive touchdown in its 13-10 win vs.
Moravian.
CUA will be taking on McDaniel for the 16th time this weekend with
the Green Terror leading the series 11-4. McDaniel won last
year’s meeting 21-17 in Maryland, while CUA earned a 31-7
victory in D.C. in 2008.
CUA scored five offensive touchdowns last weekend. The
longest drive took only 1:51 and the average time of the
Cardinals’ five scoring drives was just 1:10.
Senior safety Dylan O’Shea is the leader of the CUA defense
and last week he showed why. The native of Connecticut
registered two tackles, one interception and a team-leading three
pass breakups in the Cardinals win.
