Scotti named to ESPN Academic All-District First-Team
WASHINGTON – Senior offensive lineman Chris Scotti has
been named to the 2010 ESPN Academic All-District First-Team, it
was announced on Thursday. A civil engineering major, Scotti
carries a 3.57 grade point average and will now move onto the
national ballot where he has the chance to earn Academic
All-American honors.
Scotti has started every game for the Cardinals over the past two
seasons. This year he is helping to pave the way for a CUA
offense that is averaging 25.6 points, 118 rush yards and 244 pass
yards per game.
Off the field Scotti is a two year captain of the CUA Steel Bridge
Team, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the
2009 undergrad student representative for the school of
engineering’s standing committee of appeals on failed
grades.
In addition, the Farmingdale, N.Y. native has served as a teaching
assistant in two engineering classes, he is a member of the solar
design competition team and he’s been involved in a number of
community service projects throughout his time as a
student-athlete.
A transfer from Penn State University, Scotti was a member of the
national society of collegiate scholars during his time in State
College.
Scotti and the Cardinals will return to action on Saturday,
November 6 when they travel to Greensboro, N.C. to take on Guilford
in CUA’s final road game of the 2010 season. Kick-off
is set for 1:00 from Armfield Athletic Center.
