Title: Defensive Line Coach

Sammie Jenkins joined the CUA staff in the 2015, serving as the program’s linebacker coach in his inaugural season.

He made his coaching debut in 2009 with the Washington Warriors, a semi-pro football team in Washington, D.C. Jenkins served as the team’s defensive coordinator from 2009-2011, coming back for the 2014-2015 seasons and helping rein in the team’s championship win in 2015. Jenkins left the Warriors in 2012 to coach at Bladensburg High School and Northwestern High School before returning to the Warriors.

Jenkins was a member of the Chesapeake Tide arena football team from 2007-2008, playing middle linebacker. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in the 2008 season.

Jenkins attended St. Augustine’s University in Raleigh, N.C. Jenkins served as both middle and outside linebacker under former Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals defensive back, coach Andre Waters. Jenkins attended Suitland High School in Prince George’s County, Md., where he also played middle linebacker and led his team to two championship games.
