Olivero Earns All-South Region Honors From D3Football
Catholic University strong safety Nick Olivero (Fairfax, Va./W.T. Woodson) has been named to the D3Football All-South Region third team the site announced Monday. Pair of Cardinals Earn First Team All-ODAC Honors
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released the 2007 all-conference squad Wednesday morning and four Catholic University Cardinals received recognition. On the defense, Nick Olivero (Fairfax, Va./W.T. Woodson) and Anthony DelBorrell (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) were both selected to the first team while Bill Gross (Southampton, Pa./Archbishop Wood) was named honorable mention. For the offense, quarterback Keith Ricca (Poolesville, Md./St. John's Prospect Hall) was given honorable mention recognition. [MORE]

Eagles Drop Cards in Final Game of 2007
The Catholic University football squad fell in its final game of 2007, 41-18, to the Bridgewater College Eagles (7-3, 3-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference) Saturday afternoon. The Cards finish the season 5-5, with a 1-5 record in the ODAC. This marks the first time since 2000 that CUA has finished .500 and with five wins being the most since that season as well. It also shows a marked improvement for the graduating seniors who have increased the win total every season. [MORE]

Cardinals Have Tough Day on the Gridiron in 34-27 Loss
What looked like a great game for Catholic University football (5-4, 1-4 ODAC) went sour late in the second half as CUA fell 34-27 to the Guilford Quakers (5-4, 1-4 ODAC) Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium. The Cards had a first and goal to go ahead but couldn’t produce and later fumbled just yards from the goal line making it a tough loss to take. [MORE]
