CUA moves up one spot to No. 13 in coaches poll

WASHINGTON – CUA has moved up one spot to No. 13 in this week's Kookaburra/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll, announced on Tuesday.  The Cardinals went 2-0 last week, including a 2-0 shutout of then-No. 11 Mary Washington.

After suffering its first loss of the season on September 17, CUA bounced back with a pair of shutouts last week.  The Cardinals defeated Mary Washington 2-0 and then took down Moravian 6-0 in the Landmark Conference opener over the weekend.

Freshman Kim Hermann scored four goals in the two games to earn the conference's Offensive Player of the Week award, while Megan Comunale sent back eight shots in the two games and was rewarded with the Defensive Player of the Week award.

CUA returns to the field on Tuesday evening when the Cardinals hit the road to face McDaniel at 7 p.m. underneath the lights.  Following Tuesday's game CUA returns home to face league foe Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1.
