Cardinals ranked No. 8 in this week's NFHCA poll
WASHINGTON – After taking the nation’s No. 2 ranked
team to overtime and then winning its conference opener, CUA
dropped just one spot in this week’s NFCHA national poll to
No. 8, announced on Tuesday. The Cardinals are 5-2 overall
and have been nationally ranked every week of the season.
CUA won its fifth game of the season over the weekend, downing
conference foe Moravian 4-2 on Saturday. The Greyhounds led
1-0 with a goal midway through the first half, before the Cardinals
stormed back to score four straight, including the game-winner from
Rebecca Lukaszczyk 57 seconds into the second half.
The Cardinals have outscored opponents 24-9 this season and
outshot them 166-88. Junior goalkeeper Megan Comunale is
ranked 11th in America in save percentage (84.9) and 21st in goals
against average (1.1).

No. 7 Mary Washington, which is unbeaten at 8-0.
