Synapse Sports names Wright to All-Rookie Squad
WASHINGTON – Freshman Hayley Wright has been named to the
Synapse Sports All-Rookie Squad, it was announced on Monday.
The Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and a Second Team
All-Conference selection, Wright led CUA with 14 goals this
season.
Wright ranked second for the Cardinals with 34 points in
2012. The first year standout started all 20 games and scored
a season-high two goals twice, while handing out two assists
once.
Wright netted three game-winning goals on the year, including in
the season opener against Washington College, and she finished the
season ranked fourth in the conference in goals and fifth in
points.
Wright is CUA’s second straight Landmark Conference Rookie
of the Year, after Colleen Harwood earned the honor in 2011.
Wright and the Cardinals won their second straight Landmark
Conference championship this past season, and appeared in their
second straight NCAA Tournament. CUA has now won a
championship in each of the last three years, including the 2010
ECAC championship, along with the last two Landmark Conference
crowns.
