Mirsky named LC Defensive Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – Senior Catherine Mirsky was named the
Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, after
helping to lead CUA to a 4-1 win over Washington College on
Saturday. Mirsky scored once and spearheaded the Cardinals
defense, which held the Shorewomen to only seven shots.
Mirsky netted her first score of the year on a penalty stroke
early in the second half to put the Cardinals comfortably in front
3-1. The captain finished with two shots for the game.
Mirsky was also a major reason why CUA limited Washington College
to a single goal and just seven shots, including only two in the
first half.
Mirsky and the Cardinals return to action on Wednesday when they
travel to face Randolph-Macon. Start time is set for 4:30
p.m.
