WASHINGTON – Kaylre Greaves and Analisa Scott tabbed Landmark Athlete of the Week honors from the Landmark Conference on Tuesday, as they were named offensive athlete of the week for women's soccer and defensive athlete of the week for field hockey.
Greaves scored a goal in each game at the Farmingdale State tournament this weekend as the Cardinals opened the season 2-0. Greaves tallied the game-winner against Western Connecticut as the team posted a 3-0 shutout. On Saturday, CUA was trailing 1-0 early against Farmingdale, but Greaves responded with the game-tying goal less than a minute later. Catholic went on to win 2-1 and Greaves finished with two goals on three shots in the two.
Scott started both games in goal for Catholic as the No. 15 Cardinals opened the season 2-0. In the season opener at Randolph-Macon, Scott went the full 70 minutes to earn the 2-1 win with four saves. She played the first half of the Cards' 1-0 win over Denison on Sunday with four saves to finish with eight and a .889 save percentage this week.
The women's soccer takes on Hood on Wednesday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium for the official home opener.
The field hockey team continues their three-game road stint with a 4:30 matchup at Gettysburg on Tuesday, September 9.
