Cardinals knock off EMU Oct. 6, 2001

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Catholic won its eighth consecutive game as the Cardinals scored three second-half goals to rally for a 3-2 victory against Eastern Mennonite.

Freshman Rebecca Clark scored twice including the game-winner with 17 minutes remaining to raise Catholic to 10-1 on the year. Eastern Mennonite fell to 9-5.

Clark started the rally with the Cardinals' first goal at 26:10 of the second half with an assist from Andi Snyder. Meghan Hartnett would tie the game at 2-2 with her tally with help from Danielle Deon at the 18:38 mark.

Just 54 seconds later, Clark would give Catholic the lead for good with an assist from Hartnett.

Goalie Katie Iannacone was superb with 19 saves on the day. Her counterpart, EMU's Lauren Hartzler made nine saves. The Royals outshot the Cardinals 34-19.

Catholic concludes their Virginia trip with a non-league game at Washington & Lee at noon.
