Roselle makes Iannacone's performance stand up Sept. 22, 2001

TOWSON, Md. - Junior Stephanie Roselle (Tinton Falls, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) scored with 3:43 left in the game and junior goalie Katie Iannacone (Havertown, Pa./Villa Maria) posted her second shutout of the season to lead the Catholic University field hockey team to its second consecutive win, 1-0 at Goucher in Capital Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Catholic improved to 5-1, 2-1 in the CAC, while Goucher fell to 3-5, 0-3. Roselle scored for the second consecutive game and got off a team-high nine shots as part of a 27-shot barrage from the Cardinals offense. Goucher goalkeeper Beth Matthews collected 16 saves. Iannacone had two saves in her first shutout since a 4-0 win against Ohio Wesleyan in the season opener Sept. 1.

Catholic returns to action at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, Division I Georgetown.
