Catholic wins, advances to
ECAC final vs. Montclair State
Nov. 3, 2001

WASHINGTON - Catholic's Steph Roselle (Tinton Falls, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) scored an unassisted tally in the 56th minute to lift the Cardinals into the finals of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship by downing Washington College 1-0. Junior goalie Katie Iannacone (Havertown, Pa./Villa Maria) made six saves to record her fifth shutout of the season.

After a scoreless first half that produced four penalty corners apiece, Catholic caught a break when the Shorewomen's (13-8) Avery Coleman was penalized with a yellow card. The resulting play gave Catholic a man-advantage for five minutes, but were not able to take the lead.

Roselle scored her team-leading 14th goal of the season after she picked up a loose ball in the arc.

The Cardinals (16-3) move on to face Montclair State in the final of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
