Catholic winless streak reaches eight games Oct. 25, 2002

Baltimore, Md. --- The College of Notre Dame rallied to defeat Catholic, 2-1, Friday afternoon sending the Cardinals to their eighth consecutive loss.

Sophomore Rebecca Clark (Pasadena, Md./Seton Keough) gave Catholic (5-9) a 1-0 lead with her eighth goal of the season with an assist form freshman Jamie Punyko (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) at the 12:24 mark of the first period.

The College of Notre Dame answered later in the period with a goal off a penalty corner form Alayna Lawson 11 minutes later. The Gators (9-9) took the lead for good with just eight minutes in the game with another goal off a penalty corner form Corinne Greenwood.

Goalies Katie Iannacone (Haverford, Pa./Villa Maria) and Erin Swift (Monmouth, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) played a half each. Iannacone posted four saves while Swift had three.

Catholic returns to action on Sunday, October 27 as they travel to Lexington, Va. to take on Washington & Lee at 1 p.m.
