STEVENSON, Md. - Villa Julie used two second-half goals and held off a late Cardinal comeback as the Mustangs knocked off Catholic, 2-1, in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

Villa Julie (5-8) got on the board early in the second stanza as Carey McCrone made it 1-0. The Mustangs' Morgan Feehy added a goal in the 55th minute with an assist from Dawn McFarland.

Catholic cut the lead to one as sophomore Rebecca Clark, pictured, (Pasadena, Md./Seton Keough) scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season with just over five minutes in the game. Junior Danielle Deon (Cape May Court House, NJ/Middle Twp.) assisted on the goal.

The Cardinals (5-2) had six penalty corners in the second half but were unable to even the score.

Cardinal goalie Katie Iannacone (Havertown, Pa./Villa Maria) posted eight saves in the loss.

Catholic returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 1, with a big CAC game at Mary Washington at 4:30 p.m.
