CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY FIELD HOCKEY MOVES UP TO 15TH IN NATIONAL POLL

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 4, 2005) -- The Catholic University of America Field Hockey team improved two spots to 15th in the latest STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Poll.

With last week's 4-1 win over Capital Athletic Conference foe, the University of Mary Washington, and a 7-0 victory over Villa Julie College, the Cardinals improved to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

On Wednesday, the Cardinals face CAC opponent Salisbury University (10-0, 3-0 CAC), who ranks No. 1 in the NFHCA poll and has won the last two NCAA national championships. The teams are currently tied for first place in the CAC. Salisbury has won 43 straight games and the Cardinals have strung nine wins together and are undefeated at home. CUA students, faculty, and fans are encouraged to attend Wednesday's game of the week and "Fill the Hill."
